Postdoc positions at Northeastern University, Institute for Experiential AI

There are immediate openings for 2-year postdoctoral researcher positions at the Institute for experiential AI, Northeastern University, Boston, USA, with a competitive pay.

Candidates with strong Machine Learning / Computer Vision / Natural Language
Processing expertise that are excited to expand their experiences in AI, on topics related to any
of those areas: Affective Computing, AI for Healthcare, Social Robotics, Explainable AI, and
Fairness in AI, are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidates must have a PhD in EE/CE/CS, proficiency in PyTorch/Tensorflow, and great track record of conference/ journal publications in the top ranked ML/CV/NLP venues. In return, you will be part of a large team working on cutting edge AI research. The postdoc position also provides formal mentoring (both as mentee and mentor) and grant writing opportunities.

About Agata Lapedriza
She is a Principal Research Scientist at Northeastern University, at the Institute for Experiential AI, and a Professor at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). At Northeastern she leads research in the intersection of Multi-modal Perception, AI for Health, and Responsible AI. At UOC she leads the Artificial Intelligence for Human Well-being (AIWELL) research group at the UOC eHealth Research Center. Since 2012 she has been collaborating with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). From 2012 to 2015, she was a visiting professor at MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab, where she worked on Scene Recognition and Interpretable Models in Computer Vision. From 2017 to 2023 she has been a research Affiliate at MIT Medialab, at the Affective Computing group, where she worked on Emotion Perception and Social Robotics. In 2020, she spent a year at Google, USA, as a Visiting Faculty. Her current research interests are related to Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Affective Computing, AI for Health, Social Robotics, and Responsible AI.
